Japan

Introduction.


Japan is an island country that’s found in east Asia it’s located in the pacific Ocean, and it lies off the eastern continent and stretches over the Sea of Okhotsk in the north of East Asia that’s in the north of East China Sea and the Philopino sea in the south, actually Japan is the 62nd largest country in the whole world It has approximate land mass of 377,973 square kilometers that’s bigger than New Zealand (WOAH), Japan is made out of 6,852 islands also the largest cities in Japan are Tokyo, Hamamatsu, Shizuoka and Toyama.





Population.


Japan’s has a current population around 126.8 million people and Tokyo has 8,956,000, the population in Japan is equivalent to 1.64% of the world's population.





Unique food and drinks.


Japan has a lot of unique food and drinks, the most favourite drink is Amazake it is a traditional Japanese drink made from grounded rice. Also the most eaten food in Japan is Sushi and Sashimi, Sushi is a piece of fish or chicken mostly fish because it’s a traditional way to make it and it’s wrapped in Nori and some other fillings like carrot, capsicum, celery and more then it’s wrapped in a pacific roller then they chop it up and serve it.





Sumo wrestling.


Sumo is a sport in Japan that people wrestle each other here what Sumo wrestlers are, Sumo wrestlers are people that eat a lot of vegetables so they can gain weight for there wrestling there main dish is called chankonabe it’s a stew that’s easy to make and really healthy and they usually have 10 bowls of rice with the stew after they finished their meal they go to take a rest for a couple hours the reason they go to sleep after sleeping is because they gain weight when they go to sleep after they wake up they go get ready for Sumo practise, they have to eat a lot of food so they can gain more weight because the more weight they have the more force you can do to the other opponent, actually they don’t eat junk food all there fat is from healthy food.





Special animals.


Japan has a lot of special animals like the Japanese red fox there’s a lot more different kinds of unique animals in Japan.





Landmarks.


There are a lot of landmarks in japan the most famous landmark is Mount Fuji, Mount Fuji is an active volcano about 100 kilometers from Tokyo and it’s the country's tallest peak standing at 3,776, and Kinkaku-ji is the second most famous Kinkaku-ji is a historical tranquil temple it has a reflecting pond and is good for growing crops on, but (my opinion I think this place is better the Arashiyama) Arashiyama is a bamboo forest with a pathway going through to the other side and monkeys come up to you and follow you through the bamboo forest pathway.





Japan atomic bombings.


Japan has had been hit by two atomic bombs badly and Hiroshima and Nagasaki the United states did two bombings over the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6th/9th 1945, leaving behind destroyed homes and and family's the bombs killed around 129,000 and 226,000 a lot of family's in different cities of Japan were devastated because there family died a way they shouldn’t have, Actually one person survived the bombing in Hiroshima, When he got rescued he got transported to Nagasaki to be more safe but Nagasaki got bombed three days (how unlucky and lucky) is he.?





Vending machines


Japan has a lot of vending machines it’s actually the country with the most vending machines in the world it has approximate of 1 per 23 people and they sell some pretty cool things they even have a car vending machine.





How Japan got named Japan


The name of Japan in Japanese is called Nihon or Nippon written as 日本 in Chinese characters, those characters in Chinese means “The Origin of the sun” however “Nihon” or “Nippon” doesn’t sound like Japan so the origin of the word “Japan” is unknowable to find out for now.





Karate


Karate was created by Japanese people seeing Chinese people do kung fu so they created a new version of kung fu and named it Karate, Karate is stronger it’s used to hurt another person but then kung fu is more efficient to stop more people.





Why I would want to go to Japan





I would like to visit Japan because it is an interesting place to visit there is a lot of exciting stuff to do in Japan like visiting the places I mentioned I want to go to Arashiyama because it looks like a cool place to visit for a holiday.
